Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain teaching resources to ensure the best experience for the Guards.
- Maintain safe working practices and a safe environment for the Guards.
- Develop and deliver dynamic learning programs that meet the needs of guarding department and utilize multiple and diverse teaching and learning strategies.
- Deliver employability training in a group setting that engages the staff through an in-depth differentiated and tailored learning experience.
- Plan and deliver functional skills as an embedded part of the training programme.
- Assess departmental needs and set robust plans and targets to meet their needs.
- Achieve outcomes for the company that provide a wide range of benefits including jobs, apprenticeships, qualifications and other progression routes.
- Prepare guards for their subsequent next steps of work.
- Manage data for guards including initial assessment, enrolment, daily registration of training attendance and ensure all requests & support needs are processed efficiently.
- Deliver learning programmes flexibly across the loactions.
- Keep up to date with developments in training methodology and security issues.
- Any other reasonable tasks or duties as required by the line manager or organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Strong work tenure: Minimum of 3 years security field experience preferably in a security trainer role.
- Applicable certifications is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and Social Media web platforms.
Qualifications:
- Sound knowledge of humanitarian security.
- Demonstrable competence in and enthusiasm for practical training methods.
- A sound appreciation of at least some the range of personal and technical issues facing relief workers such as international law, codes and standards, gender and conflict issues.
- Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines with a minimum of support.
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills including tolerance and flexibility
- Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, external partners and donors
- Expert level written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
- Emotional maturity
- Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
- Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
