The Nigerian Senate, on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC).
Bawa’s confirmation follows a two-hour grilling at plenary, appeared before the Committee of the whole on Wednesday.
Bawa, who is 40-year-old was asked questions bothering on the operations of the agency.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday, 16 2021, nominated Abdulrasheed Bawa as substantive Chairman of the EFCC and asked the leadership of the National Assembly to confirm the appointment.
The development is a departure from the past, where nominees of President Buhari would first pass through Senate Committee scrutiny before a revert report is turned in for consideration by Committee of the whole.
