Senators plan to override President Buhari’s decision to decline assent to electoral act amendment bill

Some lawmakers in the National Assembly have concluded plans to override President Buhari’s veto following his decision to decline the electoral act amendment bill.

Disclosing this to Channels TV, Senator George Sekibo said 73 signatures have been collated so far to override the President’s position.

The Senate earlier today went into a closed session to debate the decision of the President to decline assent to the bill. The plenary was adjourned till Wednesday, December 20
