Shooting practice: Kano police warn residents against panicking

The Kano State Police Command on Sunday night warned residents within the vicinity of the Customs Training College, Goron Dutse not to panic over the sound of gunshots to come in the next couple of days.

The spokesman for the Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, explained that the training college is conducting a seven-day shooting range practice.

“CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel is announcing to the public that the personnel of the Nigeria Customs Training College, Goron Dutse Kano will conduct seven days of shooting range practice at Hawan Kalibawa, Dawakin Tofa LGA, Kano State from Monday, 11th September 2023 to Sunday, 17th September 2023 from 0600hrs (6am) to 1800hrs (6pm) daily.”

To this end, the CP advised members of the Public, especially those residing at Dambazau, Gangaren Dutse, Tumfafi, Kakurum and Dandalama villages in Dawakin Tofa/Ungogo LGAs and its environs against panicking but keep off from the area at the sound of shootings until the exercise is over.
