Spurs appeals Son’s red card

Tottenham are appealing the red card shown to Heung-Min Son against Bournemouth on Saturday. Spurs had until 1pm on Tuesday to lodge the appeal.

Spurs believes that the red card and which automatically gives Son a three game ban is excessive after they viewed the incident.

Two minutes before half-time, Son reacted angrily to a challenge from Jefferson Lerma and pushed the Bournemouth midfielder in the chest, Lerma fell to the ground and referee Craig Pawson produced a red card.

As it stands, the South Korea international will also be banned for the first two games of next season.
