Student Counsellor at PFL Education – Preparation for Life

Job Purpose

  • Responsible for identifying the prospective clients and presenting PFL offers and services based on available partner universities and courses.
  • To provide honest and proper guidance in relation to prospective client’s qualifications, budget, and immigration records in order to help them make the right choices in achieving their study abroad goals.
  • To protect the company’s brand image by adhering strictly to ethical practices and maintaining maximum transparency to our students, the company and all internal stakeholders towards achieving service excellence for our clients.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Student Recruitment & Marketing:

  • Work closely with Center Manager to ensure that Revenue, as well as Registration targets, are met while guiding students on university/college application procedures.
  • Answering inquiries from potential student clients and making sales of education services.
  • Advising potential students on education opportunities in different study destinations where PFL has partnership.
  • Accept the line manager’s task allocations and report sales figures each month.
  • Convert walk-ins Students into registration
  • Marketing and Promoting PFL institutions to prospective students
  • Develop and initiate student recruitment strategies that will have good return on investment.
  • Identify opportunities, develop plans and initiate alliances that will strengthen the PFL brand and ensure with relevant organizations including scholarship bodies.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to regarding student recruitment activities.

Application:

  • Conducting detailed profile assessment of student/sponsor/parent/guardian with attention to academic qualification, career progression, financial capability and immigration history and guiding them accordingly to institutions where his/her chances of getting admission/visa is high.
  • Requesting academic documentation required for institution applications and verifying the same.
  • Passing on required documents to a conversion officer through the central conversion manager with clear indication of course/program/university and expected intake.
  • Closely monitor individual student progress in conjunction with the assigned conversion officer throughout the institution application/visa processes and communicating updates and required actions to the student.
  • Promptly follow-up all offers made and ensure prompt responses back to partner institutions through the central conversion unit.

Visa Counselling:

  • Work with central conversion unit to communicate clear and accurate information to students and parents based on the current immigration laws and policies for student visa application.
  • Ensure relevant visa and immigration documents are provided to the conversion team accordingly.
  • Ensure that all information/documents provided by the student is accurate and correct, preparing and checking all legal documents including financial papers
  • Ensuring students are closely guided from start to finish of the student visa application process
  • Monitoring student enrolment at their study institution and promptly communicating any issues or challenges to appropriate unit.

Role Requirements

  • A First Degree from a reputable tertiary institution with the demonstration of key skills required at Degree level – essential
  • 1 – 4 years of work experience.
  • Experience of working in international education – essential
  • Marketing experience especially in international education – Required
  • Considerable experience in a customer-facing role – essential
  • Experience in an administrative role – essential
  • Knowledgeable and widely read.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent organizational skills – essential
  • Good report writing and analytical skills – essential
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite – essential
  • Knowledge of international higher education – essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – essential
  • Working knowledge of marketing principles and the local market terrain – desirable
