The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali, has urged the Police Constables who recently graduated to constantly display high levels of professionalism and discipline in the performance of their duties.

Alkali emphasised that the rule of law and respect for human rights, which are the cornerstone of policing, must be adhered to while stating that unethical behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The Police Boss gave this warning through the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 17, AIG Yunuss Mohammed Akeera, at the passing out parade for 357 constables from the Police Training School in Oyin Akoko, Ondo State.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Zone, DSP Adeoye Akeem, the IGP stated that “the Police under my leadership has zero-tolerance for indiscipline and any act that may be antithetical to police professionalism.

“As you begin your career as a police officer today, I thus warn you to resolve not to engage in any act that will be unedifying of your good name, that of your families, and indeed the Force.”

The Police Training School’s Commandant, Oyin Akoko, DCP Aina Adesola, urged the new Constables to be selfless, patriotic, and good representatives of the institution.
