Joe Biden’s administration has issued a regional emergency declaration for 17 states and Washington, D.C., to keep fuel supply lines open after a cyberattack on Colonial Pipeline’s infrastructure on Friday, May 7.

Friday night’s cyberattack is “the most significant, successful attack on energy infrastructure” known to have occurred in the U.S., according to Politico.

Colonial Pipeline carries 45% of fuel supplies in the eastern U.S. Some 5,500 miles of the pipeline has been shut down in response to the attack.

While gasoline and diesel prices aren’t expected to be impacted if pipeline operations resume in the next few days, fuel suppliers are becoming “increasingly nervous” about possible shortages, Bloomberg reports.

Colonial said in a statement Sunday while its main fuel lines remained offline, some smaller lines between terminals and delivery points were now operational.

He said “We will bring our full system back online only when we believe it is safe to do so and in full compliance with the approval of all federal regulations”

The US said it’s “working with” fuel pipeline operator Colonial Pipeline to try and restart operations as soon as possible.

The regional emergency declaration by the Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is so that fuel supply lines can be kept open.

The emergency declaration covers Alabama, Arkansas, D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

The DoT agency said in a statement the declaration “addresses the emergency conditions creating a need for immediate transportation of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and other refined petroleum products and provides necessary relief.”

The attack is a significant breach of critical infrastructure and comes on the heels of multiple other major cyberattacks on both U.S. companies and the federal government in recent months by foreign actors.

A Florida Pastor, Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne has been arrested by the police for holding fully-packed church services despite a stay-at-home order in the state.

Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne was arrested on Monday March 30 on misdemeanor charges of unlawful assembly and violation of public health rules after defying social distancing orders at The River at Tampa Bay church.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said at a press conference “I made a decision to seek an arrest warrant for the pastor of a local church who intentionally and repeatedly chose to disregard the orders set in place by our president, the governor, the CDC and the Hillsborough County Emergency Policy Group. His reckless disregard for human life put hundreds of people in his congregation at risk and thousands of residents who may interact with them this week in danger.”

A Florida father left his juvenile son on the side of the road because he thinks his son might be gay, according to police.

Evenaud Julmeus, 30, of Haines City, Fla., dropped the boy off in front of a closed police department, according to an affidavit, which stated that the child had a small duffel bag with several articles of clothing in it but did not have any food, water or money. The boy also did not have a phone with him, police said.

Julmeus told his son, whose age was redacted in the affidavit, to pack a duffel bag after he allegedly found male pornography videos on his cell phone, according to what the affidavit said the victim told police. Court records said Julmeus “became very upset” after he found the video.

Haines City police told Fox News the boy is a pre-teen.

A bystander who witnessed the event called police. An officer dispatched to the location said the victim was very upset and crying, according to court records.

The victim told police that his father told him to pack a bag and that he was taking him to the police department where they would find him a new home, court records said.

Julmeus made his son get out of the vehicle while sitting in a turn lane on a Florida highway and then drove off, according to court records, which added that his father did not try to contact law enforcement to tell them he had dropped off his son.

After learning about what had happened, the boy’s mother went to go look for him at the police station, leaving her other two young children with Julmeus, the affidavit said.

Julmeus had fled the home before police arrived, leaving the two children alone, according to court records.

Julmeus left his juvenile son at “a closed police department with no one around, failing or omitting to provide the victim with care, supervision and services necessary to maintain physical or mental health while also failing to make a reasonable effort to protect the victim from abuse, neglect or exploitation of others,” the affidavit said.

He also allegedly neglected his two other children by leaving them alone at their home with no adult supervision or care, court records added.

Julmeus has been charged with three counts of negligent child abuse without bodily harm and turned himself in, police said, adding that he is still in custody.

Florida fire officials were investigating after a weekend fire at a marina in Fort Lauderdale destroyed two luxury yachts worth a combined $24 million.

The fire was reported Saturday at 4:30 a.m. on Fort Lauderdale’s Marina Mile, according to reports.

“When I stepped outside, I saw this blazing fire, maybe 12 stories high,” Arlene Meyer told Fox 7 Miami. Meyer said the fire woke her up.

“It was very eerie. You could see the flames, and it was very quiet,” she said. “You could see the reflection of the fire in the water.”

The Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue released video of the massive fire that 60 firefighters and three fireboats battled for five hours. Wind spread the fire to one yacht to another, local media reported.

“At this time, the fire is under investigation, however it is believed to have started on the 160-foot yacht and then spread to the neighboring 100-foot yacht,” the department said on Facebook.

Fort Lauderdale Battalion Chief Stephen Gollan called the destruction of the yachts “the biggest fire loss in Fort Lauderdale history,” the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

The paper said no one was aboard the two yachts at the time of the fire.

The larger yacht was named Lohengrin and was built in 2006, according to reports. The smaller yacht was named Reflections and was built 22 years ago.

Gollan said Lohengrin was worth $12 to $16 million; Reflections was worth $8 million.

The yachts were next to each other at the marina for repainting, according to the paper.

Reflections owner Chip McElroy, of Tulsa, Okla., told the paper the yacht was named Reflections “for all the blessings in our lives.”

“We were a week away from being out of here,” he said.

Lohengrin’s owner purchased the yacht in January, the paper reported.

A Navy petty officer in Florida is a person of interest in the disappearance of her 5-year-old daughter, Taylor Williams, authorities announced on Monday.

During a news conference on Monday, Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams told reporters that the search for the missing girl is expanding to Alabama and that her mother is no longer cooperating with their investigation.

“As of today, Taylor’s mother, Brianna Williams, remains uncooperative with this investigation. She has not spoken with us since Wednesday and she was the last person to see Taylor,” Sheriff Williams, who is not related to the family, said at the news conference. “She is a person of interest in this case and we still need her cooperation in our efforts.”

Williams said officers have been deployed to Demopolis, Ala., est of Montgomery.

The girl was reported missing from her Jacksonville home last Wednesday.

A Florida man was charged with raping a woman and later admitted to killing a man and woman in Mexico, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Omar Navis Torres, 39, who the victim says has a “crack and alcohol addiction,” allegedly beat the unnamed woman before sexually assaulting her.

He later admitted to killing a man and woman in Mexico, according to the arrest report.

Officers responded to a location in Manatee County on Oct. 30, in reference to a past physical dispute, when they made contact with Torres and the victim.

Torres allegedly threw the woman onto the bed, hitting her in the face multiple times after he told her she wasn’t good for anything but sex.

The victim told police he forced himself on her and that she only stopped resisting after realizing he wouldn’t stop hitting her until she complied, according to the report.

Police say Torres allegedly controlled the victim with fear, saying multiple times that if she sought help from law enforcement he would kill her and if Torres was unable to find her — he would come after her family, kill them and then take his own life.

Those reasons kept the woman from reaching out to the police, but after another aggressive encounter, the victim called 911 due to fears for her own safety, according to the arrest report.

The victim told police that Torres was “very aggressive” and that he punched her in the nose — causing it to bleed — following a verbal argument a couple of days ago.

Police arranged for a rape kit to be administered on the victim, while Torres was booked into the Manatee County jail on Oct. 31 and remains in custody on a $35,000 bond, according to the Bradenton Herald.

A Florida panhandler has been charged with threatening to beat up a woman who wouldn’t give her $1 when she asked, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Melanie Leff, 46, had been panhandling in Bradenton around 6:00 p.m. on Thursday when a bystander allegedly complained to police that Leff had threatened to beat up a woman who refused to give her $1.

Deputies who responded to the scene saw and heard Leff yelling obscenities at someone inside a car stopped at the red light where she had set up shop, according to the Bradenton Herald.

While she was being taken away to the Manatee County jail, deputies told the outlet that Leff “was extremely aggressive and verbally abusive.”

Police arrested her on charges of panhandling and engaging in conduct that implies threat of injury.

Leff was previously arrested twice for the misuse of the 911 system, according to the Miami Herald.

In Dec. 2018, officers spoke with Leff after receiving complaints of her panhandling in the area.

The outlet said when they arrived, Leff allegedly yelled and told the officer she was going to call 911 and he subsequently arrested her for the charge of misuse of the 911 system.

Just 10 minutes later, Leff somehow managed to call the police again from the back of the patrol car, landing her another charge of the same crime, according to the Miami Herald.

The outlet reported that Leff was arrested twice between Nov. 2017 and Jan. 2018 on charges of trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct, as well as another panhandling charge.

A new ordinance was recently passed in Manatee County making it illegal for panhandlers or pedestrians to remain in the median of “highly traveled” roads after an outcry over instances of violence by homeless people in the area, according to the Bradenton Herald.

A strengthening Hurricane Dorian is churning over the warm, open waters of the Atlantic on Thursday as forecasts show the storm becoming more dangerous in its path to Florida’s east coast — a track that’s prompted President Trump to warn Dorian “will be BIG!”

The National Hurricane Center said, as of 11 a.m.EDT, that Dorian is a Category 1 storm with sustained winds near 85 mph and it is moving northwest at 13 mph. It was located about 220 miles north-northwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico, NHC said.

Forecasters believe the storm will strengthen into a dangerous Category 3 hurricane by Friday, staying well east of the southern and central Bahamas before making a turn toward Florida by Sunday afternoon.

At that time, the latest NHC forecast is for the storm to be a Category 4 storm as it approaches Florida.

“Hurricane Dorian looks like it will be hitting Florida late Sunday night,” Trump tweeted Thursday morning. “Be prepared and please follow State and Federal instructions, it will be a very big Hurricane, perhaps one of the biggest!”

Dorian is still “a long ways away” from eventually hitting the Florida coast, which gives residents across the area “plenty of time” to prepare, according to Fox News meteorologist Adam Klotz.

“No matter where this ultimately goes, it does look like it’s going to land along the Florida coast but it’s running over warm water and it’s going to continue to intensify,” Klotz said on “Fox & Friends.”

A Florida man was apprehended on Friday for posting a really threatening message on social media that said he was going to have his semi-automatic rifle returned and shoppers should avoid Walmart, authorities said.

Richard Clayton, aged 26, made the threat on Facebook on Aug. 6, writing: “3 more days of probation left then I get my AR-15 back. Don’t go to Walmart next week,” Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) said.

Clayton posted his message just three days after a gunman walked into a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, and killed 22 people.

Clayton, of Winter Park, was taken into custody following a joint investigation involving the FDLE, FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and Winter Park Police Department. He appeared to believe in the white supremacist ideology and had a history of writing threatening messages on Facebook using fake accounts, according to investigators.

Clayton was charged with writing threats to kill or do bodily harm and booked in the Orange County Jail. He was held on $15,000 bond, according to online records.

The incident is another of a slew of threats Walmart has received in recent weeks.

Another man in Florida allegedly called a Walmart location in Gibsonton on Aug. 4 and threatened to “shoot up” the store. He was arrested and charged with false report of using a firearm in a violent manner, a felony offense.

In Missouri, a 20-year-old man sent shoppers at a Springfield Walmart fleeing when he walked into a store while wearing body armorand carrying a rifle and a handgun on Thursday. He was charged with making a terroristic threat.

In Texas, a 13-year-old boy was arrested for making a terroristic threat that prompted the evacuation of a Walmart on Aug. 7, the Welaco Police Department said in a news release.

Another incident in Texas saw officers respond to a threat posted on social media Saturday. A man was arrested at a home for making a terroristic threat against a Walmart in Harlingen, the Harlingen Police Department said in a statement.

A Florida landlord got an blasting surprise over the weekend right after a lightning strike triggered a blast that destroyed a toilet.

Marylou Ward and her husband were sitting in their Port Charlotte home as a thunderstorm rolled through on Sunday when she said she heard a “boom” that was “the loudest noise I ever heard.”

“We smelled smoke and I looked outside,” Ward told WINK News. “It was the smoke from the septic tank that was coming.”

When she went into her bathroom, she found our that the toilet was now in bits of pieces. A plumber from A-1 Affordable Plumbing Inc. told the couple the lightning strike ignited methane gas that built up in the pipes and septic tanks. Methane is typically emitted during the breakdown of sewage in waste systems.

“The toilet exploded in homeowners master bathroom sending porcelain airborne like a missile (the porcelain penetrated into wall). Most likely all sewer piping will need to be replaced and septic tank,” a plumber posted to Facebook.

“Luckily no one was hurt! Scheduling a camera inspection this week to see how much sanitary pipe needs to be replaced!!”

Besides her toilet being destroyed, Ward said her septic tank and indoor plumbing were also wrecked. The blast also broke a window in the couple’s master bedroom and destroyed yard decorations. No one was hurt during the incident, but Ward said it made her feel lucky.

“I’m just glad none of us were on the toilet,” she told WINK News. “That’s the main thing.”

In 2018 the Sunshine State had the highest density of lightning strikes, according to environmental measurement specialist Vaisala released its Annual Lightning Report. Florida had the highest average of negative ground-to-cloud flasher per square mile, with 24, according to the study.

Lighting typically strikes tall objects such as trees and skyscrapers because their tops are closer to the base of the storm cloud, according to The National Severe Storms Laboratory.
