He said that the attack includes the U.S. embassies, attacks in the Middle East, but he didn’t provide specific information about the plot.

Pompeo made the new comments during a White House press briefing after telling Fox News on Thursday the government didn’t know when or where the attack would take place.

“We don’t know exactly which day it would have been executed, but it was very clear: Qassem Soleimani himself was plotting a broad, large-scale attack against American interests, and those attacks were imminent,” Pompeo told CBS News White House correspondent Paula Reid.

President Trump addressed the drone strike on Iran’s top general during a rally with supporters in Toledo, Ohio, on Thursday night.

“Soleimani was actively planning new attacks, and he was looking very seriously at our embassies and not just the embassy in Baghdad, but we stopped him, and we stopped him quickly, and we stopped him cold,” the president said without offering any evidence to support his claim.

Sources told CBS News that members of Congress were not told during a briefing by administration officials earlier this week about any imminent threats to U.S. embassies, CBS News chief congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes reports.

Shawn Evans, 37, is allegedly linked to the devices discovered at the coffee shop chain location over the weekend.

According to SF Gate, officers were called to the café just before 5 p.m. on Sunday after someone reported a camera discovered in a drainpipe in front of the toilet. Another camera was found by police under the sink facing the toilet. It was not reported how long the cameras might have been in the bathroom.

Officers tracked Evans to a vehicle parked near Starbucks, according to the report. There were electronic devices found allegedly linking Evans to the cameras, per SF Gate. Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were also reportedly discovered inside his car.

Evans was also arrested on the charge of drug possession, the report said.

A Starbucks spokesperson told Fox News the coffee shop was supporting the police in their investigation and applauded the employees for reacting quickly after making the disturbing find.

“Our partners [employees] quickly contacted the police after making this disturbing discovery, working swiftly to ensure the safety of our customers and partners, as well as the security of our store,” the spokesperson said. “As a part of store operations, we regularly monitor the seating areas and restroom in order to identify potential safety or security concerns.”

About 30 rockets landed at the base used by the U.S and Iraqi forces, the official said.

“Several” U.S. troops were also injured in the rocket attack, the official said. It’s not immediately clear how severe the injuries are.

This is the 11th rocket attack on U.S. and Iraqi forces since late October, according to a U.S. defence official.

Two U.S. officials blamed Iranian-backed proxy forces the attack, not the Islamic State (ISIS).

“We’ve not seen ISIS conduct sophisticated rocket attacks in probably a year,” said the official, who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak with the media.

There are roughly 5,000 U.S. troops deployed to Iraq.

Earlier this month, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blamed Iran for two separate rocket attacks on the Baghdad International Airport, on Dec. 9 and 11, where U.S. and Iraqi forces are located on the other side of the commercial airport.

In a statement, Pompeo warned of a “decisive U.S. response” if any Americans were harmed in the future.

A former patient testified Wednesday at the trial of Seth Lookhart that an investigator showed her a 2016 video of the dentist riding the motorized, wheeled vehicle while extracting one of her teeth when she was sedated.

“I obviously wouldn’t have approved that. That’s dangerous,” Veronica Wilhelm said on the stand, calling Lookhart’s alleged actions unprofessional.

Lookhart also sedated Wilhelm’s son for a teeth cleaning, she said.

The Anchorage dentist denied the fraud allegations but admitted to riding the hoverboard during the procedure, his attorney Paul Stockler said.

Stockler described his client’s actions as “absolutely stupid.”

“But I’ve seen much more dangerous things where no doctor has been charged,” the lawyer said.

Stockler gave Wilhelm a chance to address his client directly, KTUU-TV reported.

“(You) Probably could’ve been a really good dentist,” she said. “I don’t have anything bad to say about taking out my tooth, I appreciate that, but I just think that what you did was outrageous, narcissistic you know, and crazy.”

Authorities said Lookhart fraudulently billed Medicaid around $1.8 million and stole $250,000 from his partners. The state suspended his dentistry license in 2017.

Evenaud Julmeus, 30, of Haines City, Fla., dropped the boy off in front of a closed police department, according to an affidavit, which stated that the child had a small duffel bag with several articles of clothing in it but did not have any food, water or money. The boy also did not have a phone with him, police said.

Julmeus told his son, whose age was redacted in the affidavit, to pack a duffel bag after he allegedly found male pornography videos on his cell phone, according to what the affidavit said the victim told police. Court records said Julmeus “became very upset” after he found the video.

Haines City police told Fox News the boy is a pre-teen.

A bystander who witnessed the event called police. An officer dispatched to the location said the victim was very upset and crying, according to court records.

The victim told police that his father told him to pack a bag and that he was taking him to the police department where they would find him a new home, court records said.

Julmeus made his son get out of the vehicle while sitting in a turn lane on a Florida highway and then drove off, according to court records, which added that his father did not try to contact law enforcement to tell them he had dropped off his son.

After learning about what had happened, the boy’s mother went to go look for him at the police station, leaving her other two young children with Julmeus, the affidavit said.

Julmeus had fled the home before police arrived, leaving the two children alone, according to court records.

Julmeus left his juvenile son at “a closed police department with no one around, failing or omitting to provide the victim with care, supervision and services necessary to maintain physical or mental health while also failing to make a reasonable effort to protect the victim from abuse, neglect or exploitation of others,” the affidavit said.

He also allegedly neglected his two other children by leaving them alone at their home with no adult supervision or care, court records added.

Julmeus has been charged with three counts of negligent child abuse without bodily harm and turned himself in, police said, adding that he is still in custody.

Prosecutors said security camera footage showed Epstein, 66, who was found dead in his Manhattan federal prison cell this past August, was alone in his cell the night officials said he killed himself.

In an exclusive interview on “Fox & Friends” last month, pioneering forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden revealed Epstein’s body bore telltale signs of homicide, despite the official ruling that he had killed himself.

The bombshell claim by Baden, a former New York City medical examiner who has worked on high-profile cases during a five-decade medical career, reignited suspicions that surfaced immediately after Epstein, who was awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges involving underage girls, was discovered dead in his cell on Aug. 10.

New York City Medical Examiner Barbara Sampson ruled Epstein’s cause of death to be a suicide by hanging.

In announcing a case against two guards accused of falsifying records, prosecutors said Tuesday that video surveillance showed that nobody had entered the area housing Epstein.

Baden, the pathologist hired by Epstein’s brother to investigate his death, said he still was not convinced and wanted to know more from guards about the position of Epstein’s body when he was found.

Mark Epstein, Jeffrey’s next of kin, had hired Baden to perform an independent investigation because the family wasn’t getting answers, the pathologist told Fox News.

Last month, Baden, who observed the autopsy, told Fox News its findings were more consistent with homicidal strangulation than suicidal hanging. He noted that Epstein had two fractures on the left and right sides of his larynx, specifically the thyroid cartilage or Adam’s apple, as well as one fracture on the left hyoid bone above the Adam’s apple, Baden said.

“Those three fractures are extremely unusual in suicidal hangings and could occur much more commonly in homicidal strangulation,” Baden, who is also a Fox News contributor, said at the time.

Baden previously had probed cases involving O.J. Simpson, President John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, record producer Phil Spector, New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez and many others.

“I’ve not seen in 50 years where that occurred in a suicidal hanging case,” the 85-year-old medical legend said.

There were also hemorrhages in Epstein’s eyes that were common in homicidal strangulation and uncommon, though not unheard of, in suicidal hangings, the forensic pathologist said.

“Suspect is in custody and being treated at a local hospital,” Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva tweeted.

The shooter had been described as a “male Asian suspect” wearing black clothing who was last seen walking away from the scene, the sheriff’s office said. He was believed to be a student at the school, KNBC reported.

Two male patients were in critical condition at Henry Mayo Hospital, with another male patient in good condition, the medical center tweeted. It wasn’t immediately clear if there were other injuries — either as the result of the gunfire or sustained in the aftermath — as the number of total injuries fluctuated between three and seven in numerous reports throughout the morning. Authorities had also said one person required CPR at the scene.

A weapon was recovered at the scene, according to an update from the William S. Hart Union High School District, where all school lockdowns were lifted as of 1:40 p.m. ET. The school district also confirmed that there is only one suspect.

It was not immediately clear if the shooting occurred inside the school building, on school grounds or near the school. It also wasn’t clear what time the shooting happened, but a lieutenant with the fire department told Fox News school began at 6:55 a.m.

President Trump “is monitoring the ongoing reports of a school shooting in Santa Clarita, CA,” the White House said in a statement. “The White House encourages all those in the area to follow the advice of local law enforcement and first responders.”

Harris campaign officials confirmed to Fox News on Friday that all field staffers in the state have left the campaign and that only a “handful” of staff remains. The added that three field offices – in Keene, Nashua, and Portsmouth — have been shuttered. They said the state headquarters – in Manchester – will remain open with a small staff.

The move comes two days after top national officials for the senator from California announced they were restructuring and redeploying staffers from their headquarters in Baltimore and some of the early-voting states to Iowa, which kicks off the primary and caucus presidential nominating calendar. The campaign has been hemorrhaging money, spending more than what was coming in.

The Harris campaign also confirmed to Fox News that the candidate canceled next week’s two-day swing through New Hampshire, when Harris was scheduled to head to the State House in Concord and file in person to place her name on the primary ballot. The campaign said Harris will now file to place her name on the ballot by mail. White House contenders almost always show up in person to file.

In a statement, the campaign noted that “Senator Harris and this team set out with one goal — to win the nomination and defeat Donald Trump in 2020. To do so, the campaign has made a strategic decision to realign resources to go all in on Iowa, resulting in office closures and staff realignments and reductions in New Hampshire.”

Harris told Fox News in February, during her first visit to the state since launching her campaign a month earlier, that “I intend to spend a lot of time here and I intend to compete for the votes here.”

Erin Valenti, a 33-year-old CEO of Tinker Ventures, a Salt Lake City-based tech company, was discovered “deceased in her vehicle in San Jose” on Saturday. Before she was reported missing, Valenti was reportedly on her way to the San Jose International Airport in California to head home to Utah on Monday.

“Erin has been found. Please call off the search,” her family said in a statement, posted to Facebook by Missing Pieces Network. “We all greatly appreciate the effort and support people have provided. The family will release more information as they are able to.”

In the “Help Find Erin Valenti” Facebook group, the family continued: “Many of you have seen that the search for Erin has been called off. While we were praying for a different outcome, we are so appreciative for the help and support you have given.”

“Please remember Erin as the beautiful, smart, funny woman that she was. I don’t have any details that have not been in the media. I’m sure that Harrison will thank you himself when he is able, but please be patient,” the post read.

Valenti’s husband, Harrison Weinstein, pleaded online Wednesday for help finding his wife. He said she was last seen in Palo Alto, Calif., on Monday afternoon, “but never returned her rental car or made it on her flight home to Utah.”

“Her phone has been off since Monday night. If you have seen or heard from her please let me know,” her husband wrote. “Any information to her whereabouts is much appreciated and can be directed to me, her family, or the San Jose Police Department.”

On Friday, San Jose Police Sgt. Enrique Garcia told KSTU investigators were “treating this case as a voluntary missing person.” However, Valenti’s family says she seemed to be distraught on the night she disappeared. Weinstein and Valenti’s parents told the station that they spoke to her on the phone Monday and she seemed manic, though she has no history of mental illness.

“I get that people have the right to disappear, but that’s not this,” Weinstein told KTVU. “Everything she said, she was planning on coming home. She was trying to get to the airport. She’s not thinking clearly.”

A San Jose police officer made contact with Valenti by phone Monday night, the East Bay Timesreported. Weinstein told the outlet: “The officer said she wasn’t making any sense. They drove around looking for her on Monday night and never found her.”

Valenti’s mother, Whitey Valenti, said she spoke with her daughter “for hours on and off” on Monday night.

“Her thoughts were disconnected. She talked a mile a minute. She’d say I’m coming home for Thanksgiving, then in the next she was saying she’s in the Matrix.”

The bus slammed into a guard rail and rolled onto its side, KUTV reported. The crash happened at around 11:30 a.m. near a highway rest stop about 7 miles from the park entrance.

Four people are dead and dozens more were injured after bus crashed near Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah.

All 30 people on board, including the driver, sustained injuries and at least 7 are considered in critical condition, Garfield County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Denise Dastrup told Fox News. The Utah Highway Patrol tweeted that between 12 and 15 people had suffered “very critical injuries” and that the tourists on the bus were “Chinese-speaking.” Another 10 people suffered “minor to serious” injuries.
