Top Republican and the US Majority Senate leader, Mitch McConnell has seemingly admitted defeat in hopes of a Trump re-election, stating there’ll be “an orderly transfer from this administration to the next one”

The General Services Administration administrator has not stated Joe Biden won the election, and without doing that Biden can’t get the necessary logistical support his team will need in transitioning to the White House.

Trump is meant to vacate the White House in January 2021 but until Biden is certified as the winner of the election, Trump still has a slim chance of fighting the electoral results in court.

When asked why the General Services Administration administrator has not issued a letter of “ascertainment” that would determine the likely winner of the race and formally begin the transition process, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that the next president would be inaugurated on time.

He said “We’re going to have an orderly transfer from this administration to the next one, what we all say about it is, frankly, irrelevant. I have emphasized that one of the beauties of the American election system is we have 50 separate ways to conduct them. Every state is different. It ought to stay that way. We ought not to try to rationalize how we handle elections,” he added. “States know how to do it. I know when things don’t happen they tend not to make a headline, but [there is] no indication any foreign intervention succeeded. The elections were smoothly conducted. But the decision as to how the end of the election happened in 50 different places,” he added. “So next we’re going to say election certification in the states that are still close, and in doubt — in Georgia and Pennsylvania and Michigan and Nevada. Once those certifications occur, if they occur, based upon litigation that’s being tried in various places, those will be final. The Electoral College will meet in December, and the inauguration will be on Jan. 20.”

US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell warned President Donald Trump Monday against accelerating troop reductions in Afghanistan and Iraq, saying it would give extremists a “big propaganda victory.”

Addressing reports that Trump plans to announce within days sharp cuts to US forces in both countries, the Republican Senate chief said the US would be “abandoning” partners.

McConnell said on the Senate floor. “The consequences of a premature US exit would likely be even worse than President Obama’s withdrawal from Iraq back in 2011, which fueled the rise of ISIS and a new round of global terrorism. It would be reminiscent of the humiliating America departure from Saigon in 1975. The spectacle of US troops abandoning facilities and equipment, leaving the field in Afghanistan to the Taliban and ISIS, would be broadcast around the world as a symbol of US defeat and humiliation, and a victory for Islamic extremism. It would hand a weakened and scattered Al-Qaeda a big, big propaganda victory and a renewed safe haven for plotting attacks against America.”

The US Senate leadership has stated that US president won’t be removed from office, as a result of ‘the weak case’ presented by the Democrat controlled US House Of Representatives.

The House Judiciary committee led by Democrat Jerry Nadler voted along party lines on Friday to submit two articles of impeachment against Trump and the US leader could be impeached as early as Wednesday next week.

Trump’s impeachment by the US House is as a result of a July phone call he made with Ukraine’s president Zelensky asking for investigation of his political rival Joe Biden in return for military aid.

The House could impeach Trump next week but the Senate led by Republican Mitch McConnell says the Democrats have no case and he will be working with the White House lawyers and the president to ensure a quick and smooth trial in the senate.

He said “The case is so darn weak coming over from the House. We all know how it’s going to end,” Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell said on Fox News program “Hannity. There is no chance the president is going to be removed from office. We have no choice but to take it up. But we’ll be working through this process hopefully in a fairly short period of time, in total coordination with the White House counsel’s office and the people who are representing the president, in the way all of the Senate.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., had a fractured shoulder after a fall Sunday morning at his home.

McConnell hurt his shoulder right after he tripped and fell while on the outside patio of his Louisville home. The specifics of his injury, such as which shoulder was injured, was not revealed.

“This morning, Leader McConnell tripped at home on his outside patio and suffered a fractured shoulder,” David Popp, McConnell’s communications director, said in a statement.

The 77-year-old was treated and released and is working from his home, Popp said.

McConnell returned to Kentucky after the Senate began a five-week recess Thursday, hailing the chamber for a hard-won budget deal that staves off a possible government shutdown.

The statement said the senator had expressed his sympathies to the people of El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, following the recent mass shootings in those communities and that he had been in touch with Republican Sens. John Cornyn of Texas and Rob Portman of Ohio to “express his deepest sympathies for the people of El Paso and Dayton and discuss the senseless tragedies of this weekend.”

Mass shootings within hours of each other in both cities killed a combined 29 people and injured dozens more.

Several Democrats including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., called on McConnell to call the Senate back Capitol Hill for an emergency session to debate and vote on universal background checks legislation.
