The National Examination Council, on Monday, released the results of the  Senior School Certificate Examinations conducted between  November 20 and December 20, 2023.

The exam body, which announced the release of the results in Niger State, said a total of 74,950 candidates took the exam out of  which 50,066, representing 67.35 per cent, got five credits, including in Mathematics and English Language.

It also revealed that 8,518 candidates were booked for malpractices, noting, however, that the figure was lesser than the 11,419 recorded in 2022.

Giving the summary of the results, NECO Registrar, Dantani Wushishi, said, “73, 124 candidates sat for the English language out of which 55, 272 representing 75.59 per cent got credit and above while out of 73,119 candidates that sat for Mathematics 67.814, representing 92. 75 per cent, secured credit and above.

Also, 62,530, representing 84.11 per cent, got five credits irrespective of Mathematics and English Language.

“The number of candidates that got booked for various forms of malpractice is 8,518 as against 11,419 in 2022. This shows a decline in malpractice cases by 25.4 per cent.

“Two supervisors, one from Oyo and another from Lagos State were blacklisted for poor supervision, inability to control the candidates, and for aiding and abetting.

“One centre in Borno State was blacklisted for aiding and abetting by sharing WhatsApp messages with candidates.”

Wushishi thanked everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the examination and release of the results.

He also announced the launch of a three-posting Automated Annual Posting Calendar.

The National Examination Council on Tuesday released the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination results.

According to the Registrar of the examination body, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, the result summary shows that 61.60 per cent scored five credits, including English and Mathematics.

12,030, representing 0.07 per cent, against 13,594, representing 0.13 per cent in 2022.

The National Examination Council on Tuesday released the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination internal results.

According to the Registrar of the examination body, Prof. Dantani Wushishi,  the result summary shows that 61.60% scored five credits, including English and Mathematics.

12,030, representing 0.07 per cent, against 13,594, representing 0.13 per cent in 2022.

The number of candidates who registered for the exam was 1,205,888, and the number of candidates who sat for the exams was 1,196,985.

616,398 males and 580,587 females sat for the Examination.

Number of candidates with 5 credits and above, including English and Maths 737, 308.

The number of candidates with five credits, irrespective of English and Mathematics, is 1,013,611, representing 84.68 per cent.

The National Examination Council on Friday announced the release of the results of the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination conducted nationwide in July.

NECO Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dantali Wushishi, disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Minna.

He said that out of 1,233,631 candidates who registered, 1,226,631 actually sat for the examination.

Wushishi explained that 945,853 candidates obtained five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics, while 1,094,291candidates also obtained five credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.

He said that the number of candidates who made five credits and above including English and Mathematics were 878,925 representing 71.64 per cent.

When compared with 2020 SSCE internal figures of 894,101, which was 73.89 per cent, a 2.2 per cent decrease was noted.

He further explained that the number of candidates who made five credits and above irrespective of English language and Mathematics was 1,226,796, representing 94.04 per cent.

Wushishi said that candidates involved in various forms of malpractices in 2021 were 20,003, representing 1.63 per cent, whereas 33,470 representing 2.63 per cent cases were recorded in 2020.

The registrar who reiterated the council’s zero tolerance for examination malpractices said appropriate standards and excellence were maintained right from the planning stage to the release of the results.

He said the reduction in the level of malpractices was a result of deepened monitoring of the examination by members of the governing board, management and senior staff of the council.

He said that candidates could now access their results on the NECO website.
