A chaotic scene is currently being witnessed at Agodi community of Ibadan, Oyo state capital following a clash between okada riders and officials of the Agodi Correctional Facility.

It was alleged that the clash ensued after the death of an Okada man which was linked to a prison official.

Olugbenga Fadeyi, spokesman of Oyo state police command confirmed the incident and also disclosed that policemen have been deployed to curtail the violence.

He said “The truth is that there was a clash between officers of the correctional service and bike men stationed at agodi gate.  One okada riders sustained an injury and he was rushed to the University College Hospital. Our men moved in a swift response to be able to curtail the menace of criminal elements. Our men are still there to ensure that okada riders do not take the law into their hands.”

Yesterday we reported that the Oyo State Police killed Ebila, the gang leader of the army robbery group One Million Boys in  Ibadan, however, the Oyo state police command has made a clarification on how ‘One Million Boys’ gang leader, Ebila was killed.  In a statement released by Oyo police spokesperson Olugbenga Fadeyi on Monday, July 13, it was gathered that the police did not kill Ebila.

It was further learnt that the gang leader has been on the wanted list of the Oyo State Police Command over the death of one Moshood Oladokun a.k.a Ekugbemi, the leader of a rival cult group in Ibadan who was murdered on April 11, 2020, at Sokelu village Olunde Area, Ibadan.

The statement read “The attention of the Commissioner of Police, CP Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu, psc has been drawn to a caption on social media on how Police murdered ‘One Million Boys’ gang leader.

  1. The Commissioner of Police wishes to put the record straight that the ‘One Million Boys’ gang leader, Biola a.k.a Ebila was not killed by the Oyo State Police Command personnel. He had been on the wanted list of the Oyo State Police Command over the death of one Moshood Oladokun a.k.a Ekugbemi, the leader of a rival cult group in Ibadan who was murdered on 11th April 2020 at Sokelu village Olunde Area, Ibadan.
  2. The members of the rival armed groups had been unleashing mayhem on innocent members of the public in parts of Ibadan metropolis for several years, attacked, robbed and also inflicted severe bodily injuries on some innocent members of the public. Ebila had invaded Oyo State Police Command’s arrests for three consecutive times before he met his alleged waterloo on Sunday 12th July 2020.
  3. The Commissioner of Police, however, wishes to assure the law-abiding members of the public that Oyo State Police Command is on top of the situation and again warns all contending interest to desist from any action or cause of action or be ready to face the consequences of their actions or inactions and the full wrath of the law.
  4. The CP, therefore, urged all the good people of Oyo State to continue to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of molestation or threat from any individual or groups as adequate security measures have been emplaced to respond promptly to any security threats from any quarters.

Biola Ebila, said to be the leader of notorious ‘One Million Boys’ gang in Ibadan has been shot dead.

The gang leader who was on the wanted list of Oyo police command was shot dead around Olomi area of Ibadan on Sunday, July 12,  after resisting attempts to arrest him by officials of Operation Burst, an Oyo State Joint Security Outfit.

Ebila met his waterloo after he and his gang members went to kidnap a man simply identified as “Femi”.  It was gathered after the shoot-out, the gang members escaped with Ebila’s dead body in a car and then took the lifeless body to Kudeti which they showed to other members who did not follow them for the operation. They unleashed pandemonium on Kudeti thereafter before driving the corpse to an unknown destination.

Oyo police spokesperson, Olugbenga Fadeyi confirmed Ebila’s death and also told The Sun that some of his followers wanted to foment troubles in Kudeti area following his death. Security personnel have also been stationed at strategic places at Kudeti, Idi-Arere, Oke-Oluokun, and other places to forestall breakdown of law and order.
