The bail also applied to an Ibadan-based media personality, Oriyomi Hamzat and the Principal of Islamic High School, Abdulahi Fasasi.

Presiding over Court 8, Justice K.B Olawoyin gave the ruling following a bail application filed by the counsel for the trio.

The Judge gave five conditions for the bail, including N10 million and two sureties who must submit landed documents within the court’s jurisdiction.

According to invitation cards sent by the palace, the wedding Thanksgiving service and celebration is scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 20, 2023

The occasion will be preceded by the Queen’s ceremonial arrival into Ile-Ife’s old Ife Oodua Palace on Thursday, May 18.

Recall that the monarch picked six women including Elizabeth as wives in 2022. His wedding to the women came after his marriage to Olori Naomi crashed. Prior to Olori Naomi, the monarch was married to Queen Wuraola who also divorced him.

He married six women between September and October 2022, starting with Mariam Anako, an Ebira from Kogi State, on September 6, 2022. Then, on September 7, 2022, he married Elizabeth Opeoluwa Akinmuda, an Ondo native. On October 9, 2022, he married Tobi Phillips, a native of Okitipupa, Ondo State, as his third wife. The monarch went on to pick Ashley Afolashade Adegoke, an Ile-Ife Princess, as his fourth wife on October 14, 2022 and then on October 20, 2022, he married Ronke Ademiluyi, another Ile-Ife Princess, as his fifth wife. On October 24, 2022, the monarch tied the knot with his sixth wife, Princess Temitope Adesegu

It was gathered that some criminals in their numbers sneaked into the town, unleashing mayhem on the community thereby forcing the traditional council members and local security to keep vigil in some areas through the night on Friday.

Following the criminal invasion, the Ooni, in a statement through the Lowa of Ife, Chief Abraham Ademola, has ordered restriction of movement in the town between 11 pm to 5 am daily.

It reads “The Imperial Majesty, Oba Ogunwusi has ordered lockdown from 11 PM to 5 AM in Ife Township from today, (Saturday). No vigil, no night party, night prayers in all churches and mosques, etc. This is because robbers and bandits presence in Ile-Ife is on high which is causing the community sleepless nights. The police with the local securities are now in the community to ensure security. Anyone caught in within these hours will be treated as such. The restriction is still further noticed”

Recall that on Thursday, December 23, the Queen took to her social media handles to announce her break-up with Oba Ogunwusi.

”I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince. Today, I announce the beginning of a new dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am a mother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slave to my thoughts of perfection”, she said

Reacting, the palace spokesperson in an interview with DailyTrust said the monarch was unaware of the reason why his wife took such a decision without any quarrel or prior discussion.

he said “Ooni of Ife was not aware of the separation. As of Wednesday evening, Kabiyesi arranged Christmas gifts for the Queen and the gift was delivered. Like other people, Ooni also read about the divorce in the media and it was a rude shock.”

Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, had been declared wanted by Nigeria’s security outfit, Department of State Services, and he is currently detained in the Benin Republic.

The activist’s lawyers have applied for asylum on his behalf but the Benin Republic government has yet to respond.

Amid Igboho’s travails, the Ooni of Ife set up a committee and sent a delegation to the Benin Republic alongside Olubadan to observe one of the court proceedings on Igboho’s case.

The Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also tacitly confirmed that Yoruba leaders are working “behind the scene” on Sunday Igboho’s matter.

Before Sanwo-Olu’s comment, Southern governors had asked DSS to inform them before carrying out major operations in the states. This was a few days after Igboho’s house was raided by DSS leading to the loss of lives.

On Saturday, the Special Assistant on Media to Obasanjo, Kehinde Akinyemi, confirmed that Nigerian ex-President, Olusegun Obasanjo, met with the President of the Republic of Benin, Patrice Talon, in the first week of August.

Akinyemi said “Obasanjo was in Benin Republic on Monday and he met with the President but nobody knew what they discussed,”

Reacting, Organising Secretary of Afenifere, Apogun Kola Omololu, commended the Yoruba leaders for their intervention.

He said the Yoruba leaders intervened because they do not believe that Igboho will get just if extradited to Nigeria from Benin Republic.

Omololu said, “Obasanjo is a Yoruba man first before becoming a president. Yoruba leaders are not noisemakers, they don’t make noise, they act. Look at the way we fought the NADECO battle, it was intellectually coordinated. Obasanjo won’t want Yorubaland to be disgraced. We all know that Federal Government is after the Yoruba nation, not Igboho. Obafemi Awolowo tried his best but was rolled into prison. MKO Abiola was killed. We want a bigger Nigeria that is working. It is restructuring or Yoruba Nation. Ooni and Olubadan are Yoruba men before they are Nigerians. They have to look after their children. They will not allow Sunday to be extradited. This government is lawless, they believe in brutality, not legality. Igboho is a social crusader, not a terrorist. He is protecting his people after the government failed and he didn’t kill anyone throughout his agitation. He is after the criminals. Why is the government defending the criminals? Sunday should be treated as a hero. Obasanjo and the monarchs have shown that they are full-blooded Yoruba persons. We applaud Baba Obasanjo. God will continue to raise the Yoruba Nation up. We are peace-loving. If the Yoruba Nation is peaceful, every part of Nigeria will benefit from it. Nobody is now safe in Yorubaland, If they have the chance, they can attack Obasanjo too. This administration has divided Nigeria so much. We are praying that this administration should end soon. This government has destroyed so many things. Federal Government should be considerate now by the efforts of the Yoruba leaders. Obasanjo is the father of Africa and he must be respected”

The monarch named him after the 49th Ooni in the 3rd dynasty of Ife, Oba Adesoji Tadenikawo Aderemi.

It was in accordance with traditional rites which last 21 days.

Oba Ogunwusi explained that first prince naming after Oba Aderemi, was in fulfillment of a promise he made.

“Our prince is hereby named Tadenikawo, Adesoji, Aderemi, Eri-Ifeoluwasimi, Adeiwa, Inioluwa, Ademide, Adegbite, Diekoloreoluwa Ogunwusi Ojaja II.”

Ooni, announced the news of his new born via his official Twitter handle on Wednesday.

He congratulated the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Silekunola who birthed a Prince to the Royal throne of Oduduwa.

“To God be the glory for the great things he has done.

“Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Silekunola who today birthed a Prince to the Royal throne of Oduduwa.

“Mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty,” he tweeted.

The Director, Media & Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Comrade Moses Olafare, who also confirmed this news, revealed that the monarch was on Wednesday, November 18 blessed with a crown Prince.

He added that Queen Silekunola Naomi Ogunwusi gave birth to the Prince at the early hours of Wednesday.

The monarch gave this suggestion while interacting with members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, who visited his palace at Ile Ife, Osun, as part of the celebration of International Youth Day, on Wednesday.

He, further stated that the BBNaija show was “misrepresenting the goodness and integrity of the Nigerian youths”.

The Ooni of Ife, while calling for the scrapping of the BBNaija reality show, noted that a new reality television that would be beneficial to youths should be put together to replace BBNaija.

As a replacement, he suggested a reality show that would project the country’s values, cultures, and traditions.

He suggested that the new show could be tagged “The Big Nigeria Reality Show”.

“The proposed show will be structured in a way that young professionals, talented individuals, and others across several fields of endeavour will be showcased and helped to reach their peak.

“This would help the participants and also help viewers to have access to people that can be seen as role models,” Ooni added.

The royal father, who stressed the need for participation of more youths in leadership, lamented that the youths have misplaced their priorities and must redress it as a matter of urgent public importance.

According to Ooni of Ife: “Nigerian youths are fond of accusing and abusing our leaders. Stop abusing them. Contribute your own quota.

“Let’s wear our thinking caps and begin to act like the real future leaders that we are.

“In the last general election, the total number of votes cast was around 27 million while over 170 million people voted during the 2019 Big Brother Naija reality show. It misrepresents the goodness and integrity of the Nigerian youths”.

He said this yesterday, April 29, while speaking with journalists in Abeokuta, Ogun State, shortly after he donated two motorized modular fumigators to the state government. He also expressed optimism that Nigeria will soon win the war against Coronavirus.

Oba Ogunwusi said that he has gone far in working with the traditional medicine practitioners in the country to ensure a solution for Coronavirus. He said though scientific solutions were being sought globally to end the pandemic, traditional medicine and solutions must also be considered and embraced as a way out of COVID-19.

The Ooni, therefore, urged the Federal Government to emulate Madagascar in its quest to use local herbs in combating Coronavirus, declaring that local herbs have the potency to heal victims of the virus.

The council in a meeting presided over by the Ooni of Ife, suspended the monarch from attending its meetings over his alleged faceoff with the Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa, Oba Dhikurulahi Akinropo.

A statement issued by the Secretary to the Oluwo in Council, Kamoru Ademola, said the Council regretted the incident that transpired between Oluwo and the Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa, Oba Dhikurulahi Akinropo.

The statement reads “The Oluwo in council regrets the unfortunate incident that transpired between the Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa and Oluwo of Iwo last week. We will also like to put it on record that the Oluwo did not at anytime assault the Agbowu or any other Oba for that matter. However, we respect the decision of the Osun State Council of Obas to suspend the Oluwo from the Council of Obas meetings; though the suspension was harsh and undeserved, the Oluwo will abide by it. Once again, we express our gratitude and respect to the Council of Obas and the leadership under the imperial majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi.”
