According to Princess, she met Baba Ijesha in 2008 at an event and the two decided to start making comedy skits together.

The comedienne also claimed Ijesha wooed her in the process of their work relationship but she rejected his proposal.

Princess said she got close to the actor afterwards, especially after her marriage crashed around 2013.

The comedienne claimed she invested in Baba Ijesha’s education and the actor visited her at home thereafter.

Baba Ijesha, actress Iyabo Ojo, amongst others were in court as Princess further narrated the alleged child molestation case against the actor.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo is currently hearing from the defendant and the prosecutor.

Baba Ijesha was yet to speak as of the time of filing this report. He was represented by Babatunde Ogala SAN, amongst others while the prosecutor, the Lagos State Government, was represented by Olayinka Adeyemi.

The actor, who is being tried by Justice Taiwo over charges bothering on rape, sexual assault and abuse of a minor, was granted bail on the ground that it was his fundamental human rights.

The actor was charged on six counts of sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault, which contravene sections 259, 135, and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011, as well as 135, 263, and 262 Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

He, however, pleaded not guilty. Baba Ijesha has been in the eye of the storm since April 22, 2021, when the Lagos State Police Command announced his arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the care of Princess.

The 48-year-old is being tried on a six-count charge which includes sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault. Others are the indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault and attempted sexual assault by penetration.

Ijesha was first arraigned in court in June and the court denied him bail.

This morning,Baba Ijesha arrived at the court at about 9:30 am in the company of his friends. Also in attendance at the court include Comedian Princess and Iyabo Ojo.

Iya Rainbow in her interview said she reached out to Princess to drop the case against Baba Ijesha but she refused. In her interview, Iya Rainbow said after everything, Baba Ijesha has now been released on bail.

Princess saw the interview and has now reacted. Describing Iya Rainbow as an irresponsible mother, a visibly angry Princess said she is ashamed of the veteran actress for her comment.

She said “Mama Rainbow, I am ashamed of you. You are not a good mother. I regret I ever respected you. I regret that I never saw you as a mother and grandmother.  You said you called for four days and that I did not answer you and that now they have released him. For your information, you called me just once, telling me that I should go and release him. You were instructing me and I never disrespected you. I even took my time to explain to you. You told me that Baba Ijesha called you to help him beg me that he has offended me. I then asked you if he told you what he did and you said no he didn’t.  I then explained to you that this is what he did and you were shaking on the phone in shock. You pleaded with me to send my house address to you. On the third day, you called me saying what I disclosed to you really hurt you and that you could tell I wasn’t okay, that I was crying and I wasn’t myself. You now asked for my house address so you would come and see me. I sent you the address, you never came. You didn’t come because it didn’t affect you. You felt like I wasn’t your child. You gave birth to your own children, Mama Rainbow! When your child had issues with his Instagram page, I saw how you came out to plead. That was your child. You know how to take care of your own child but because I am another person’s child, you called me and was told to go and release a person who was in police custody for a crime.  I was crying that day. I wasn’t happy. I explained everything to you. You were now pretending like you were a good mother. Have you come to see me since then? Have you called me since then to even check up on me? You are now saying while in court I was looking for a way to sneak out? You are an elder. What your eyes did not see you are not supposed to say it. You can just imagine. Mama Rainbow that I held in high esteem. If I was your child or the victim was your child, would you have done that?  I did not expect this from you at all. You came and you were so insensitive to say you called me and were pleading for the case not to be escalated. How can you say such a thing? Don’t ever! Anything that concerns me please just stay away from it because I used to respect you up until this evening. It is a shame.  If I was your child, would you come to me and say I should go and release somebody that is in police custody for a crime they are investigating? and then you go online to start saying I wanted to sneak out(of the court). Were you there? Were you with me when I was in court?  Who are you Mama Rainbow? You are supposed to be a role model, a grandmother, a strong Christian?  I am ashamed of you that you can come for me in that way at your age. Are you praying for this to happen to your children or your children’s children?  If this happened to you, would you handle it this way? Must you talk Mama Rainbow? How can you? You are an elderly woman. You should know better. You collected my home address. For what? To be sharing it among people. To be gossiping behind my back. I never said a word. Then you went online to go and say it again. Do you think I am afraid of you? Mama Rainbow! You are not worthy of the respect I gave to you. I Princess Oluwadamilola will stand for my child till the end. I will stand for all the other victims. I will stand for anybody that has been molested or defiled. You Mama Rainbow, what do you stand for?”

The celebrities held the protest at Panti Police Station on Thursday after news surfaced that Baba Ijesha may be released.

The PUNCH had on Wednesday reported that a senior officer at the Lagos State Police Command said a directive had been given for the release of Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, from custody, due to the ongoing strike by members of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria which had stopped the courts from sitting.

But the Iyabo Ojo sharing a video on her instalive said: “We are here at Panti, and he still here. They are not bailing Baba Ijesha. We are here and we have sorted it out,” she said in her Instagram live.’‘

Recall that the 48-year-old actor was arrested for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl over the course of 7 years.

Hessa bint Salman, the only daughter of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and a half-sister of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, received a 10-month suspended sentence from the Paris court and was ordered to pay a fine of 10,000 euros ($11,064). The court found her guilty of sequestration and theft of the plumber’s telephone, as well as complicity in violence.

The princess left France shortly after the September 2016 incident.

Her bodyguard, Rani Saida, was convicted on charges of violence, sequestration and theft. He received an eight-month suspended sentence and a 5,000-euro ($5,532) fine.

Prosecutors alleged that Princess Hessa called plumber Ashrad Eid to her apartment to fix a damaged sink. The craftsman said he took photos of the bathroom he needed for work, but the princess believed he was trying to photograph her when she saw her reflection captured in the mirror. Eid alleged the princess furiously ordered her bodyguard to bind him and forced him to kiss the princess’ feet, as well as break Eid’s phone.

The plumber said he was not allowed to leave for several hours. At one point, he claimed the princess yelled, “Kill him, the dog. He doesn’t deserve to live.”

After the trial, Princess Hassa’s French lawyer, Emmanuel Moyne, called the plumber’s allegations “fanciful” and promised they would launch an appeal. Saida said he heard Princess Hassa cry for help and rushed in to find her and Eid tugging at the phone.

“I seized (him) and overpowered him, I didn’t know what he was after,” said the bodyguard, and suggested the plumber might want to sell the images, according to the BBC. Photographing the princess is illegal under Saudi law.

Eid’s attorney, Georges Karouni, saluted his client’s “courage” in bringing the case and said the verdict was proof of “everyone equal before the law.”
