Tyson Fury will defend his WBC world heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte in April.

This is coming after the Gypsy King’s trans-Atlantic promotional partners Frank Warren and Bob Arum won Friday’s purse bid in Mexico City with an offer of $42 million dollars.

The Purse bids for the all-British showdown had been delayed four times this month with a final deadline falling tonight on Friday at 6 pm [GMT].

The winning bid also saves Team Fury the total £20.5 million they were prepared to pay Anthony Joshua and Whyte between them to step aside to allow the Gypsy King to fight AJ conqueror Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed world heavyweight championship.

Wembley, Cardiff, and Fury’s hometown of Manchester – possibly Old Trafford – are in the running to stage his fight with Whyte.

Warren,  in refuting Hearn’s claim that Fury had backed out of fighting Usyk first and foremost – asserted that negotiations crashed when Joshua ‘suddenly demanded an extra £5 million on top of his agreed £15 million to step aside.

That prompted Fury to lambast Joshua and Hearn as ‘the worst businessmen in the world.’

Whyte also stands to lose out to some extent financially, given the WBC have ordered a purse split of 80 to 20 per cent in favour of Fury as champion.

The long-anticipated fight between Fury and Joshua will recede further if AJ loses to Usyk a second time.

Dillian Whyte has demanded that the WBC force Tyson Fury face him next following his victory over Deontay Wilder.

The Gypsy King, 33, ended his rivalry with the Bronze Bomber on Saturday night after securing an 11th round knockout victory in Las Vegas.

However, Fury has maintained that he will take a break before deciding his next plan with Whyte the WBC’s mandatory challenger for his title, while a unification fight against the winner of Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch with Anthony Joshua could be on the horizon.

Whyte has now come out to state that he must fight Fury next and that the WBC must compel the Gypsy King to face him.

Whyte told Sky Sports News “Fury has the belt. Wilder had the chance to fight me for three years but didn’t. Hopefully now the WBC forces my position and Fury has no choice. It’s a massive British fight, a major fight for Britain. [However] Fury is an unpredictable man who might say: ‘I am done!’ I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking at them, I am definitely looking at fighting Fury”

WBC and Lineal Heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury beat Deontay Wilder for the third and final time on Saturday, October 9, in a very entertaining heavyweight clash in Las Vegas.

Fury delivered a full blow in the 11th round to end Wilder’s defiant display. Fury was floored twice in the fourth round, having sent Wilder to the canvas in the third round.

But the Gypsy King, still undefeated in his career, rallied and then sent Wilder into a continuous barrage of onslaughts in the next rounds. .

After giving Wilder a knockdown in the 10th round, Fury sealed the victory in the 11th round with a devastating punch that sent his American rival crashing to the floor. This is the third time both fighters faced each other. The first fight ended as a draw which many thought Fury won, the second was a win by Fury and now this is the third.

With the win, Fury has now confirmed his status as the best heavyweight boxer in the world and will now look to fight the winner of the rematch between Oleksandr USyk and Anthony Joshua for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

Tyson Fury has rubbished  Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight record, stating that he has never fought one opponent during the prime of their career.

The Gypsy King was due to meet Joshua in an undisputed clash this year before an arbitrator ruled that he had to face Deontay Wilder in a trilogy fight.

Joshua is also set to fight former undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 25.

Throughout his career, Joshua has picked up big victories over the likes of Wladimir Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin, Kubrat Pulev, and Joseph Parker.

During an interview with former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville,  Fury was asked why boxing misses out on big fights such as the Gypsy King against Joshua.

Fury said on Neville’s The Overlap show “I do think that the best boxers do fight each other eventually, but it’s not gonna happen when everyone calls for it. It only happens when, say, one boxer’s on the slide and one’s in his prime. Then you get them wanting to fight each other. But you very rarely get two prime fighters to fight each other. Because one of them is always a bit wary that they’re gonna lose. Anthony Joshua’s fought not one heavyweight in his prime. They’re all former good men, back in the early 2000s, late 2000s, but not in 2020-odd. They were good men 10 years ago”

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have finally signed a lucrative two-fight deal for the biggest clash in British boxing history for the undisputed heavyweight title.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed to Sportsmail that all the paperwork has been completed, exchanged, and signed for two mega-fights, with the first scheduled for this summer.

A date and venue are expected to be finalised in the next three weeks to a month, with late June or early July the prime options for the opening showdown.

Hearn told Sportsmail: ‘All sides have now put pen to paper on what will be the biggest fight in boxing. We will now collectively look at the best site deal. We have had a lot of offers and now we will go over the details and see what works the best for this historic fight. The agreement is for two fights and getting the names on contracts is a huge step. We will hopefully be in a position to confirm details on where and when in the next month.’

Hearn and Fury’s camp, led by Bob Arum and Frank Warren, have reportedly received lucrative site proposals from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the US, and Australia, among others for the locations.

The money-spinning two-fight deal will eclipse Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao as the most lucrative bout in the sport’s history.  Both Joshua, 31, and Fury, 32, are set to earn £100million each as part of the eye-watering purse.

World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Anthony Joshua has stoked fires of rivalry with Tyson Fury, for the first time after beating Kubrat Pulev early December.

According to Joshua, he wants to ‘take Fury’s head off his shoulders’ and settle a score over an old Rolex promised to him by Fury after their famous 2010 spar.

Joshua also revealed he’s targeting seven more years at the top and he also confirmed there’s been progress in the past week over the proposed £200m showdown in May 2021 between him and Fury which would be one of the biggest events in British sporting history.

Joshua said “All I wanted was his Rolex watch. He said before that spar (to Boxing News), “If you can beat me up or knock me out, you can have my Rolex watch, I was hungry then and I am even hungrier now. It was a good spar. I didn’t really know too much, it was just passion. Now I have some boxing IQ and passion, I know it will be a great fight. There was a Rolex but now there is an even bigger pot of gold at the end of this rainbow and I want to take his head off his shoulders when that fight happens. After the Pulev fight, I didn’t want to do any interviews – less talk and more action. I stood by that. But now that we’re talking about it, a week or so after, and I’m ready, I’m keen. If that fight happens I’m sure that I’ll win. How close are we? I promise you conversations are happening. We’re definitely looking at the landscape. But until you hear it from me, don’t buy into anything. I’m taking my time – because there has been a lot of back-and-forth for years. I’ve been chasing this road to undisputed and when the time is right I’ll announce it and I’ll have my mind fully focused on the job at hand. The offers will be made, substantial offers. I’m looking more optimistically as if it will happen to be honest with you. He should take this fight with both hands. I promise you this: I will put in a serious offer to fight Tyson Fury and if he’s serious himself, he will take it. If he’s not I will fight (Oleksandr) Usyk and leave it there”

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have agreed to fight each other, Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter has revealed.

The first of the historic fights could be staged in Saudi Arabia next year. Joshua regained his World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organisation heavyweight titles in Riyadh in December by outpointing Andy Ruiz in their rematch while Fury dethroned Deontay Wilder in February to become World Boxing Council champion.

Hearn said “We’re making great progress, there is still a lot to overcome. We are looking at venues and dates. We have the Dillian Whyte mandatory which is due before this fight. It’s fair to say [Joshua and Fury] are in agreement regarding the financial terms of the fight. We’ve been talking to [Fury’s management team] MTK, giving them the assurances from Joshua’s side that all the details on the structure of the deal are approved from our side. And it is from Fury’s side, as well. We’re in a good place. It’s fair to say that, in principle, both guys have agreed to that fight. Two fights. There’s a lot to overcome in the meantime. We’re moving in the right direction. I’m confident that both guys have given their blessing for the fight to go ahead. The point of Fury, Joshua and the teams agreeing to the structure of the deal? The first fight could happen next summer. It will be 2021. There is a big period of time where Whyte should get his shot at the title. That’s important to us. The main positive news is that Joshua and Fury have agreed to a two-fight deal, in essence. The most difficult part of any deal is the financial element. I believe we’re in a great place where both guys have agreed to what that should be. We have not signed contracts because there are still things to be worked out. We’re pushing towards a place where they can be drafted, for 2021. Both guys are in agreement. The structure of the deal has been put forward and agreed to by both parties. There is a model in place that both parties are happy with. It’s the biggest fight ever in British boxing. It doesn’t get bigger, and there will never be a bigger fight in our generation. Two guys, very different, who fight differently, have experienced different things and have come back from adversity.”

Deontay Wilder has been medically banned for the next six-weeks following his brutal defeat to Tyson Fury.

The American boxer suffered the first professional defeat of his career as he was knocked down twice before his defeat to his British rival, as his team threw in the towel in the seventh round last Saturday.

The fight was stopped amid health concerns after blood was seen coming out from Wilder’s left ear and mouth.

According to Mirror, Wilder was suspected to have burst his eardrum and was set to be taken to hospital but he ultimately needed just seven stitches for a cut in his ear. Now, the Nevada State Athletic Commission have said Wilder cannot spar until April 8 and cannot fight in the state until April 23.

The report also confirmed that the ban will not prevent Wilder from triggering the rematch clause in his contract for a third fight with Tyson Fury.

Deontay Wilder has been rushed to hospital after his defeat to Tyson Fury in their heavyweight title rematch.

The fight was ended amid concerns of a burst eardrum, after blood was seen coming out from Wilder’s left ear and mouth.

After the bout, Fury was crowned WBC heavyweight champion but Wilder missed his post-fight press conference as he was rushed to a nearby hospital for a further check-up after being seen getting his ear stitched in his dressing room.

His trainer, Jay Deas said: “He had a small cut inside the ear which may have affected his equilibrium so he’s going to get some stitches.
“That’s the extent of it; it was a gruelling fight against a gruelling fighter. This will give him some time to enjoy his family and rest up.”

Tyson Fury has become the WBC heavyweight champion of the world,  after defeating Deontay Wilder in the 7th round in the Heavyweight championship clash on Sunday morning Feb 23rd at MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas

Fury surpassed the odds, by getting a technical knockout over Deontay Wilder.

In the third round, Fury knocked out Wilder, making the American fall down to the canvas, his second time of touching the canvas in his career.

In the seventh round, Fury smashed Wilder in the face with a straight right, and Wilder was trapped in the corner, causing his people to throw in the towel after noticing that he had a bloody cut on his mouth and blood dripping out of his ears. The referee immediately called off the match, granting Fury the much coveted WBC heavyweight crown, and Wilder’s first loss of his career.

After the match Tyson Fury said “A big shout out to Deontay Wilder. He came here tonight and he manned up and he really did show the heart of a champion. I hit him with a clean right that dropped him and he got back up. He is a warrior. He will be back. He will be champion again. But I will say, the king has returned to the top of the throne!”
