Responsibilities
- Provides technical support for the developments leading to the facilitation of various technical safety workshops for our clients e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Model Reviews, Fire Safety Risk Assessment, Health Safety Risk Assessment PHA, Bowties development, etc.
- Review technical documentation as may be provided by clients for their various projects to ensure seamless technical safety workshops
- Facilitates Technical Safety Workshops such as Risk Assessment (HAZID, HAZOP-LOPA, and PHA, What-if Analysis) sessions as may be required.
- Liaise with regulators to achieve or meet regulatory requirements as may be required by our clients e,g. NMDPRA, NUPRC, Federal Ministry of Environment, NOSRA, NNPC-NAPIMS, etc.
- Seek for opportunities in Technical Safety studies within the oil and gas industry in Nigeria and beyond.
- Facilitate the development of Operational Safety Cases for the clients as may be required.
- Support clients in carrying out various Technical Safety studies for both Greenfield and Brownfield developments
- Ensures operational technical safety studies meet the criteria and minimum standard as demanded by DPR.
- Ensures that all studies carried out incorporate and implements current Corporate and Strategic Business Unit Standards (NMA), HSE Guidelines & Safety Regulations making it more Stringent than Nigeria’s Regulatory requirements
- Supports reviews to help the client to establish fit for purpose and cost-effective approaches to technical safety engineering and asset operability and integrity.
- Provide Support, Review, and Expert advice, relating to Design Integrity, Technical Integrity and Operating Integrity during the Design and Operation phases of projects
- Knowledge sharing in Process Safety/Technical Safety and provide on-the-job coaching to Junior Process Safety Engineers
- Actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
- Maintains good knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Technical Safety engineering methodologies, software systems, and design practices as they relate to FEED, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, and plant Start-up
- Regularly update his/her capabilities in new development within the aspects of Technical Safety Services
- Keep abreast of new developments in both software and technological development for the various aspects of Technical safety.
- Provides training support and openly shares knowledge
- Ensures Process safety and General HSE performance metrics are appropriately collated and managed for continuous improvement
- Design, implement and coordinate a detailed Contractor’s HSE Management System
- Provide support in other HSE aspects of Company Bid Submissions as may be required
- Conduct Technical and Safety Reviews
- Conduct site/facility inspections, and risk assessments.
- Support Technical Safety workshops serving as a scribe for HAZID, SIL, and HAZOP Studies, etc. when required.
- Provide support to Project and Operation team in all aspects of safety, occupational health, safety, and environmental issues.
- Attend pre-job, planning, and client meetings as required on technical safety-related matters.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 4 – 6 years work experience.
