Responsibilities
- Maintain, drive, supervise and implement robust technical standards, systems, and processes with a high-level of expertise and knowledge.
- Conduct the installation, qualification, maintenance, calibration, service and repair of Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), Gas Chromatography (GC), UV/VIS Spectrophotometer, Colorimeters, PH meters, Viscometers, Balances, and sundry laboratory equipment.
- Provide direction and support to ensure compliance with relevant specifications and standards when rendering technical support.
- Participate in the development of technical Services training program and be responsible for the implementation of the program and its upkeep.
- Provide technical support by identifying technical problems and determining corrective actions in own area of expertise via remote or on-site service in any service category, investigating customer needs through professional consulting
- Engage in periodic teleconference on equipment management / maintenance with OEM.
- Participate in quality verification of processes and materials.
- Participate in the forecasting of spare parts needed to service assigned customer orders according to brand / products.
- Provide technical consulting and specialist assistance on service solutions to management and customers by giving relevant inputs on customer requirements and proposed service products/solutions
- Determine effective service applications, equipment and methods to develop, market or manufacture new service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost effectively, managing customer relationships and maintaining regular contacts with key customers
- Identify new sales opportunities, conduct specialist support and advisory service for sales team, ensuring accurate communication and exchange of technical information to the customers, coordinating and performing specialist service projects in relevant areas internally and externally.
- Prepare all required technical documents and reports for contracts to be signed by the customer representative, report work done in a timely manner and provide relevant technical supporting documents.
Qualifications
- B.Tech, B.Sc or HND in Chemical Engineering or any related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Technical Service Manager in the laboratory solutions industry.
Specialised Knowledge:
- Ability to pay attention to details
- Ability of diagnose critically faulty equipment using available data and resources.
- Proficiency in using auto card
- Proficiency in using a 3-dimension drawing tool for laboratory design
- Availability to travel as needed
- Have good communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills.
