 Job Objectives                                                                                                                                               

Territory Development Executive Job is to develop business in the assigned area by:

  • Distributing goods of assigned Key Dealers in the market areas and in and around the city to deplete company’s goods.
  • Increasing the reach of company’s distribution network.
  • Maintaining relationship with dealers/wholesaler and retailers in the region.
  • To achieve volume and value-based sales targets. To ensure attainment of company sales, goals and profitability in consultation with the line managers.
  • The role is to pre-dominantly manage secondary sale of the company’s products through a key dealer / dealer in defined geographical areas.
  • To role is responsible to achieve year and year incremental, profitable growth in sales revenue through effective business development, account management, planning and execution of sales strategy.

Job Requirements

  • Experience of 2 years in selling similar products with strong network in the open markets.
  • Proven experience of working with FMCG distribution.
  • Well exposed to B2C sales and understanding of the value chain.
  • Excessive travelling is required in and around defined geography.
  • Any graduate, MBA / PGDBM shall be added advantage.
  • Should be equipped with a smart phone.

Skill Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power-Point.
  • Strong Communicational Skills – Verbal & Written.
  • Numerical Skills – to be good in basic Mathematics.
  • Excellent phone and presentation skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Duties include the following, measurable in terms of time, cost, quality, or quantity.

Strategic Responsibility –

  • To be knowledgeable about the products they are selling. To contact existing and new customers to discuss needs. Answer questions about the products.
  • To follow a sales plan with clear accountabilities and define roadmap to achieve sales budget.
  • To ensure a distribution sales process execution as per defined operating procedures and any deviation need to documented and approved by Line Manager.
  • Conducts market research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities for proper business growth.
  • Liaise with line manager for provision of regular products availability and best logistic operation services. Keeps well-informed of new product launches and ensure customers are on board.
  • Identify and contact potential customers for new business opportunities.
  • Motived and able to achieve revenue targets. Building and maintaining a CRM database. Preparing and sending quotes and proposals.
  • Regularly willing to broaden knowledge in traditional & retail sales operations. Participating in sales team meetings.
  • Directs and coordinates implementation of policy objectives and strategies towards the achievement of planned sales volumes, margins, and market share for the company’s products in Nigeria.
  • Achieves marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; implementing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing changes as instructed by senior management.
  • Meets marketing and sales revenue objectives.
  • Projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products; analyzing trends and results; recommending pricing strategies to line manager; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.
  • Achieve sales targets as approved on a consistent monthly basis.
  • Manages operational activities by regular calls and trade visit; ensures weekly route plan is met, submit daily sales activity reports and activation of daily market development drive where recruitment of new customers/keeping current customers are given top priorities.
