Tinubu orders federal institutions to halt titution fees hike

President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive to all federal institutions of higher learning to refrain from implementing arbitrary increases in various fees.

The President urges them to consider deferring any further fee hikes, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on parents and students.

Additionally, Tinubu has given his approval for the provision of buses to the students’ bodies in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education nationwide.

The statement was made by Dele Alake, the Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, and it also mentioned the removal of restrictions on students’ loans.

Alake said this was in line with the President’s desire to “see that students can access their campuses without much difficulty as a result of higher transportation costs.”
