Underwriting Associate at Reliance HMO

Description

  • This role is responsible for managing the various underwriting risks that comes with health insurance. This is done by managing new policy underwriting and policy renewals.

Job Description

  • Use available tools/resources to assess each client’s risk within the parameters set by RHMO.
  • Use the key pieces of information needed to process a new policy, renewal, cancellation and/or an alteration to an existing policy for the class of business being underwritten.
  • Support Product Team in conceptualizing, designing and implementing improvement processes around client acquisition, onboarding, renewals, upgrades, or additions.
  • Track Medical Loss Ratios for different accounts and make informed decision on renewals/rollovers and stoppage of engagement.
  • Use organizational processes and procedures for discouraging, detecting and handling actual or potentially fraudulent transactions.
  • Identify underwriting process improvements and implement these in line with organizational strategy and market realities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a first degree in medicine, nursing or healthcare/medical discipline
  • 0 – 2 years post-NYSC experience
  • Microsoft office tools including excel
  • Data literacy
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A demonstration of curiosity, love for learning, creativity, execution, and speed
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
