Head of Retail Liabilities

Job Summary

  • To support the Head of Liabilities in managing the sales/branch network and meet CASA and fee goals of the bank.

Job Responsibilities

  • To grow CASA for the bank.
  • To grow the Fee income for the bank.
  • Increase the non – interest income by strengthening/modifying existing products and exploring new product/services lines.
  • Support the bank in launching and managing the preferred banking division.
  • Help the bank in setting up the contact centre.
  • Set up KPI’s of the branch sales team, in consultation with the Head of Liabilities.
  • Hire, train, motivate, track and manage performance of the branch sales team in collaboration with the Head of Liabilities and with the help of HR.
  • Set up a Daily Operating Rhythm for the sales team at branches.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Manage resources effectively and within budget.

Independent Decisions:

  • Collaboration with management & Head of Liability
  • Managing & training the Branch Sales Team.
  • Regular contact with corporate staff and Branch staff
  • Frequent contact with various vendors.

Requirements / Skills

  • Master’s in Business or Marketing preferred.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience as Retail head, Sales Head or a regional head of a bank
  • Conversant with Savings Mobilization.

Legal Officer

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison officer with Police, EFCC and other Law Enforcement Agencies.
  • Drafting and review of all legal agreements which includes but not limited to Loan Agreements, Deed of Legal Mortgage, Deed of Equitable Mortgage, Deed of Assignment, Deed of Sale, Tenancy Agreement, Lease Agreement, Service Level Agreement, Cash Collection Agreement, and Asset Financing Agreements.
  • Liaison with recovery department and providing assistance where needed on the recovery of past due obligations.
  • Draft and review of loan documentations.
  • Ensuring legal compliance with loan documentations before disbursing.
  • Liaising with external solicitors as regards the Banks’ exposure; securities and collateral.
  • Liaising with risk management of the Bank to ensure protection of the Banks’ assets.
  • Conduct searches at the Corporate Affairs Commission, Lands’ Registry, Probates Registry, as the case may be.
  • Ensure the proper custody of the Banks’ seal and legal agreements.
  • Verification and sign off on all legal documents.
  • Liaison with recovery department and providing assistance where needed on the recovery of past due obligations.
  • Assist with Company secretarial services where and if required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • LLB in Law and BL with common law background.
  • At least 3 years post call experience in similar position
  • Not more than 5 years post call.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good written and Verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Very good, clear and concise writing skills
  • Highly structured and creative
  • Self-motivated, results oriented and problem solver.
