Manager – Market Analytics Enterprise Business NG

Mission:

  • Responsible for the management and coordination of external research work and projects for Enterprise Business in relation to providing specialist guidance and advice to the business.
  • Provide analysis and strategic direction on various business issues, including, but not limited to pricing, promotion, opportunity sizing, and assortment optimization

Description:

  • Perform research, data collection, economic, statistical, and demographic analysis using professionally accepted techniques and methodologies.
  • Manage all internal research projects and advising or guiding colleagues planning to conduct their own research about the findings of previous research undertaken and on methodologies for prospective research projects.
  • Manage external projects as required, including scoping the research, defining research methodology.
  • Source the most appropriate external research agencies for specific research projects, using an outsourced research coordinator where appropriate, and ensuring these are delivered on time and to the required standard or specification.
  • Drive Enterprise Business’ increased trialing, piloting, and consultation activity.
  • Commission consumer panels or surveys to develop customer insight that will inform the organisation’s decisions regarding product development and outward-facing service enhancements and the potential operational and financial impact of implementation.
  • Coordinate and manage survey research projects, within timelines and budgets, including working closely with clients to oversee all operational components of projects (online survey programming, sample management, data processing, and coding).
  • Work with clients on questionnaire design and analysis planning.
  • Designing qualitative and quantitative research plans for Enterprise Business in all stages of the product life cycle.
  • Develop tools, templates, and Interactive data visualizations (Dashboards) to assist in operationalizing analytics insights and to best convey information to stakeholders.
  • Applying advanced analytics and data science methods to generate business insights, predict customer satisfaction, and other business performance indices.
  • Coach and train the team to ensure understanding of the department’s objectives and goals, awareness of set targets/requirements and regularly review their training needs.
  • Review individual team members’ performance and complete appraisals in accordance with employee performance appraisal procedures and time schedules.

Education:

  • First degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Sciences or related discipline
  • Telecoms and B2B experience (desirable)
  • Fluent in English

Experience:

6 – 13 years which includes:

  • 4 years’ experience in data sciences, analytics and research
  • 2 years’ experience at supervisory level
  • 3 years working knowledge of databases and information extraction.
  • Experienced in data visualization techniques (Power BI, Excel VBA, Tableau, Python – Scikit Learn, Pandas, MatplotLib, R- Tidyverse, Tidymodels, ggPlot etc.)
  • Excellent analytical skills (qualitative and quantitative skills) with experience in statistical modeling and analysis.l
  • Excellent organizational, planning, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Must be able to design PowerPoint decks and communicate findings effectively.
  • Prior experience with GIS, economic impact analysis or business development.
  • Proficiency in questionnaire design, sampling approaches, and tabulation planning.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment if needed

Manager – Business Performance and Reporting Enterprise Business

Mission:

  • To perform strategic planning functions and maintain models for business plans, reporting, pricing, and commissioning purposes.
  • To support the Enterprise Business unit with product/service performance information by providing regular financial and non-financial information on viability, ongoing product/services performance, churn management, variance analysis, product projections/budget/forecast etc.

Description:

  • Develop internal and external sources of intelligence on a continuous basis and integrate/manage data and information from diverse sources to guide strategic plans and decision processes within Enterprise Business.
  • Develop and maintain a database of records, data, and information that are relevant to the telecommunications industry and useful for the planning and optimization of MTNN business activities.
  • Liaise cross-functionally with Finance in the overall business planning, budgeting, and forecasting process.
  • Review the budget process and ensure that quality drivers and assumptions for business plans and the business rules are correctly applied to the process and the forecasting scenarios.
  • Assess the MTNN business plan to articulate an understanding of the telecommunications industry as well as future developments to be considered.
  • Serve the Division’s internal customers and provide solutions to improve the customer experience.
  • Strategic Partnerships with MTNN leadership team to drive awareness on expected behaviors and impact on non-compliance on bottom line results and company image/reputation.
  • Review trends in the telecommunications industry and provide insight into issues and events that could be factored into the business planning, pricing, and commissioning processes as they affect MTNN operations and services.
  • Coach and train the team to ensure understanding of the department’s objectives and goals, awareness of set targets/requirements and regularly review their training needs.
  • Collaborate with other business units in developing business models and frameworks that support business decisions and assist in developing and reviewing scenarios within the models.
  • Review individual team members’ performance and complete appraisals in accordance with employee performance appraisal procedures and time schedules.

Education:

  • First degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics
  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related discipline will be an added advantage
  • Fluent in English

Experience:

6 – 13 years’ experience which includes:

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in an area of specialization; with experience in supervising/managing others.
  • Experience working in a medium to large organization.
  • Experience in hands-on accounting and financial forecasting.

General Manager – Segments and Devices Marketing

Description:

  • Drive an increase in shareholder return by ensuring that Marketing Processes are aligned to achieving all elements on the business score card. (I.e. Grow Market Share, Grow ICT & Data Revenue, Increase EBITDA margins, Assure Revenue, CAPEX Returns Management and Net Subscriber Additions).
  • Develop and consolidate an overarching MTNN consumer product roadmap including proffering short- and long-term views, identifying key drivers for sustainable profits and driving achievement of objectives/targets.
  • Review MTNN corporate direction and develop Consumer Marketing strategy ensuring alignment with MTN corporate strategic objectives and develop plans to support business initiatives and enhance IS support capacity.
  • Develop strategies and champion customer-centric culture across the organization and develop/reform relationships with MTNN’s internal and external customers to transform the MTNN’s revenue
  • Develop and implement Consumer Segment Marketing plans, reviewing methods of delivery and making optimal decisions in related areas such as:
    •  Market strategy
    •  Product (in conjunction with product manager)
    •  Pricing (in conjunction with marketing services manager)
    •  Advertising (in conjunction with Master brand)
    •  Sponsorship and Promotions
  •  Channel support/retail visibility (in store and out store (in conjunction with S&D).
  • Develop and deploy campaigns that are consistent with the MTN Value Proposition, to clearly and strongly communicate the key benefits of consumer market product and services.
  • Collaborate and co-create with other MTNN functions and subsidiaries as needed on propositions and shared go-to-market strategy
  • Coach and mentor the Segments and Devices team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of all related job requirements and accountabilities, and leverage human resources career development programs for staff career development.

Education:

  • First degree in Marketing or a related discipline
  • Possession of post graduate degree (MBA/ Masters in relevant discipline) will be advantageous
  • Fluent in English

Experience:

Minimum 12 years’ work experience, which includes:

  • Senior management track record of 3 years or more, with at least 3 years in the relevant sector or industry as per the relevant role
  • Experience working for a global or multinational enterprise (understanding of emerging markets is advantageous)
  • Proven experience in proposition development, customer management, marketing management, market research, sales, and channel management
