Violence erupts in Abuja as Traders, task force workers clash

Dutse Modern Market in Abuja is currently in crisis as traders and Federal Capital Territory Task Force officials clash over the demolition of their shops.

The taskforce officers arrived the market Tuesday morning to demolish the temporary shops.  According to the traders, the shops were allocated to them by the FCT authorities, though they were issued quit notice few days ago

Angered by the action of the demolition officers, the aggrieved traders set the temporary office of the task force on fire and also barricaded parts of the road.

Security agents including the police have arrived the market to quell the situation. See more photos below
