Vote Candidate on Merit- Maku Advises

All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Labaran Maku has urge electorate to vote any candidates running elective offices, based on their individual values.

While speaking with newsmen after meeting with Christian leaders in Karu Local Government, he also advised religious leaders against heartening electorate to vote based on religious prejudice.

He said, “What should matter to voters is the credibility of the candidate and his or capacity to deliver. We must focus on the integrity of the person seeking the office so as to get leaders of proven integrity in 2019. “Personally, I only require prayers from those supporting me and the Church. I don’t need endorsement from the Church because it is for everybody.”

“What belongs to a Muslim, Christian, Eggon, Alago, Mada, Fulani and any other resident, will be given to him or her, in order to ensure peace, unity and justice.”

Maku added that voting for him shouldn’t be because of his religion as a Christian, it should be based on personal merit, adding that being a Christian should not also be a reason why he will not be voted for. “Similarly, I will not expect anyone to reject me just because I am a Christian.

He explained that all the religion are entitled and have equal right to want to lead in Nasarawa State because its inhabitant is both Christians and Muslims.

Maku stated that his reason for wanting to be governor is due to the capacity and experience he has to make the state comfortable society for its citizen and others. “If I become the next governor, I will ensure justice and equity to all groups and tribes.
