‘We won’t rest until every agent of darkness is completely rooted out’ – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu praised his predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari, for courageously assuming power in 2015 during a critical period of heightened terrorism in Nigeria.

Speaking at the launch of Femi Adesina’s book, “Working with Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser on Media and Publicity (2015–2023),” Tinubu acknowledged inheriting the responsibility of securing the entire country, emphasizing that the task is ongoing.

President Tinubu expressed confidence in eradicating the remnants of Boko Haram, Ansaru, banditry, and kidnapping gangs, stating, “We won’t rest until every agent of darkness is completely rooted out.”

He recognized the challenges faced by President Buhari upon assuming office, including the economic recession and the Boko Haram insurgency, commending the efforts to reclaim territory and push terrorists to the fringes of Lake Chad.

Tinubu assured a commitment to complete projects initiated by his predecessor, including the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway.

He lauded Buhari’s legacy in promoting local production and highlighted the infrastructural achievements during his tenure, such as the second Niger Bridge, the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, rail lines, and airports.

The President pledged to address any unresolved challenges from Buhari’s administration, vowing to continue working towards national improvement, economic vibrancy, and enhanced security.
